At EMBRACE we hope to share the light of our mission through weekly interviews, testimonies, and updates within our parish schools with our educators and students, called Wonder Wednesday's.
This week, we have the pleasure to share EMBRACE's Jill Reffett's beautiful story about her gentle and compassionate daughter with Down Syndrome. Her story of unwavering faith and strong resilience brings true light to humanity. Her daughter is a true gift to humanity and to the Reffett family. She is everything that EMBRACE stands for - inclusion not only in schools, but everywhere.
"My daughter reminds me over and over of what God asks of me: quiet forgiveness (even of yourself), a soft heart, resilience in education, fortitude against injustice, a willingness to reach out and hold the hand of someone who needs it at just the right time, and unceasing faith." - Jill Reffett
NCPD's mission is "Rooted in Gospel values that affirm the dignity of every person, the National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD) works collaboratively to ensure meaningful participation of people with disabilities in all aspects of the life of the Church and society".
Stay tuned for next week's feature on Nicole Fearing's loving story about her beautiful daughter, Harper Fearing. "She just wants to be like any other kids. We don’t treat her any differently because of that. We give her the gift of treating her like every other kid and with that she thrives."
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14.
