Wonder Wednesday: Darlene Kroger - EMBRACE Educator

Darlene Kroger is one of EMBRACE's scholarship recipients for our special education certification program and partnership with Benedictine College. She has been a team player through COVID-19 and truly embraced the online world. The importance of students with disabilities being in our Catholic schools is apparent in Darlene's heartfelt video. She expresses her excitement about ways she can think outside the box to bring the school to her students, and then utilize that same technology to help transition that student back into his school, and the community that is his classroom. Darlene demonstrates that accommodations and transitions, while on one hand embracing the extra mile, are also as simple as letting a child see where he will be going and using technology to, literally, walk him through that process, through the door, down the hall, and into his classroom. Listen to her story about how important inclusion is within the classrooms and how EMBRACE's program is bringing light and methodology to her teaching. We are thankful for Darlene and all of her hard work!

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14.
